Photo Sharing

Of the four photo sharing websites that we review in class the ones that I liked the most were bubbleshare and flickr. They both seemed more customer/user friendly than photobucket and zoomr. Bubbleshare had a lot of fun features such as: slideshow of pictures, add clipart, and add captions to name a few. Flickr and Bubbleshare also would let one make a slideshow or post some pictures online for free.

I did not like the layouts for photobucket and zoomr very much at all. Zoomr was more of a search engine than a photo sharing website. Photobucket did not have a very good page lay out and was kind of confusing. I think that these websites would be more confusing for students the Bubbleshare and Flickr.

ibook assignment

I really liked using the ibook to complete our assignment. I think that 3-4 graders would have no problems using ibook for an assignment as longs as they had some one to teach them and answer their questions. I think that it would make the assignment more relevant in their lives because of the use of technology. As long as the teacher had very clear guidelines for the student’s assignments that emphasized the geometric element a little more than the technology side, I don't think that the students would have trouble learning the geometry skills that they needed.

Technology Education

I feel that technology education is very important in today’s world. More and more technology is be invented and used every day. For students today it is very important that they understand and know how to use basic technology. This means that students in elementary schools need to be introduced and taught how to use technology such as computers, computer programs, internet, cameras to name a few. Using technology to teach students in the classroom can help students learn and remember information much better.

I consider myself a digital native. I started using a computer when I was six or seven. I understand the basic technology and have a deeper understand in areas. The students that I will be teaching will be digital natives also. They will most likely be more proficient in the digital language than I was when I was their age. Because of this fact I think that it is very important that technology be included into many of the subject areas as possible.
